“Being single doesn’t mean you’re weak, it means you’re strong enough to wait for what YOU deserve.” -Anonymous
Valentine’s Day (V-Day) is right around the corner, in other words, for most single women we like to call this day “Single Awareness Day.” Just another Valentine’s Day of scrolling down your social media looking at all of the #relationshipgoals, gushy couple’s post, and heart felt V Day memes. What if there was a way to make “Single Awareness Day” into something more positive? Well get ready single ladies because we have your V Day solutions!
This is a holiday about love and being single doesn’t mean there isn’t love. We want you to have so much fun letting loose this holiday that not being in a relationship is the furthest thing from your mind! We have come up with 4 solutions that treat Valentine’s Day not as a day to only glorify romance, but as a day to celebrate love in general.
1. TRY SOMETHING YOU’VE NEVER TRIED BEFORE
Be adventurous! Fall in love with something new! Think of that one thing that you’ve always had on your bucket list and set February 14th as the day to tackle it! Trying new things can always open up doors to find a new happy place and meet new people!
2. SPREAD LOVE!
Like we said previously, this holiday is about love so why not go out and show others what it means to love unconditional! Dedicate that day to show those around you that they matter. Give a special gift to someone in need, text a friend words of encouragement and love, and volunteer for those less fortunate. Giving back on a holiday of love is an amazing way to celebrate love’s true meaning.
3. CELEBRATE WITH FRIENDS
Throw a party! Invite your friends over to celebrate love and happiness with cute Valentine’s Day decorations and hors d’oeuvres. You could even have a potluck and exchange gifts! In addition, you could have a game night or get the girls to come together and make a vision board for future accomplishments!
4. TREAT YOURSELF
Make this day all about loving you! Pamper yourself, go get a massage, take the day off from work, go on a hike, binge watch your favorite show on Netflix, get a mani-pedi, and just do whatever makes you happy! Loving yourself is a very important part of loving others! Make February 14th a day to appreciate all that you do and just relax and enjoy a day of loving you.

Being single shouldn’t always have a negative connotation. Use this time to find out who you truly are, spend time with God, and meditate on your blessings. Essentially, become the person you would want to date.
